I always have the last laugh

So I've been wrestling with this and talking to a friend about this.
I'm looking for a good forum to join. Would like suggestions. I just want something where I can freely express my opinion and people will agree to disagree with me but still chat with me

I've had some bad experiences with a couple forums. One of them, cops.com, I joined last May under one name and then about June or July I changed to another name because of hostility from a certain member. Under this 2nd name, I realized that 2 people were basically running the forum unofficially and if you got on their bad side, you were screwed. So these people were just trying to get me banned for a couple months now. Well, they finally twisted the moderator's arm and I was banned on Monday. After he trickily got me to tell him my other 2 forum names, so he could ban those too.

Now this other one, I joined on Monday because of a recommendation from a friend. This forum has these things called reputation points where the members can make yours lower or higher based on their opinions of you. Borrowing this from Goddesses' blog, cause I can't access it on this forum:
"On this LEO forum they have what's called a "reputation system, and it consists of ten boxes. This is what it says, "Generally, a member with a green bar is over all well liked by most members, while someone with a red rep bar is generally disliked or disagreed with often." WTH? You get a negative reputation because people don't agree with what you've posted? Then it goes on to say this--which sounds like it's right out of a freaking video game rules list: "Generally, a reputation is given to someone not just when you agree or disagree with their post (although that is what the rep box itself states), but when when someone posts something extraordinarily good, or extremely stupid."
    {"Extremely stupid"? By whose standards?}
"To see who has rep'd you, click on User CP (User Control Panel). You will see which user has rep'd you, if it was a positive or negative rep, and the comment, if any, that they provided. Here's how everything else works: Default Reputation What reputation level shall new users receive upon registration? 10 Register Date Factor For every X number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. 30 Post Count Factor For every X number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. 5 Reputation Point Factor For every X points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. 10 Minimum Post Count How many posts must a user have before his reputation hits count on others? 50 Until a member reaches 50 posts, their reputation will be sent to another member as a bluish-grey color, whether they agree or disagree with the post. During this time the member also cannot influence the other member's reputation level until they've reached 50 posts. Minimum Reputation Count How much reputation must a user have before his reputation hits count on others? 10 Daily Reputation Clicks Limit...." Further down it says if you link to the site, you get 1000 reputation points or if you refer someone you get 500 points. Unless I can freaking turn these points in for candy or prizes, forget it. I find this whole rating people's reputations on whether you usually agree or disagree with them pretty funny considering THIS statement: "Unlike most L.E. websites, the staff at blahblahForums.com values your right to "free speech. We are not here to babysit you, moderate you, or treat you like children" Really? Cuz it sure as hell sounds like it. They value "free speech"? I guess, as long as it's not "extremely stupid".
Judging someone's posts where everyone can see is unfair, IMHO, because some people are going to be influenced by that, instead of forming their own opinions.
    Thank you Goddess
Anyways, I asked a couple questions (which is kinda the point of civilians going to law enforcement forums) and these people were extremely rude, deciding I was an idiot, when I just wanted to see if all cops thought the same way. (I wanted to see how people would react to a question, they pretty much reacted like I thought they would, "You're an idiot"), Anyways, this got them pushing my reputation points down, which as I've discussed is just wrong to have on a forum, and then they decided to ban me becuase they thought I was stupid. That's a pretty flimsy reason, but i guess when it is your forum, you can do whatever you want.

So, if anyone has a good forum that I can join, I'd love suggestions.

    I'll be there for you

Karli has a couple problems from the chemo. First, it mde her color stop working correctly, but this will get better with time. She can't eat or drink, and has a tube down her nose to her stomach to pump out anything that might be going the wrong way. This is not fun, and last night she pulled the tube out, so it had to be put in again.
The other problem is that it made her brain malfunction, although, this is suppose to get better in time too. She is sedated, she can understand, but just can't answer questions that wall, or do things easily. She just needs to rest and heal for now. She's gonna be in IA City for awhile
The good news is, she's gonna recover from this.
    28 April

    What's the matter with you?

And a little more of an update.
Last night, Becki called me. The doctors think the seizures were from blood vessels moving around in the brain. They decided the reason she was having abdominal cramps and throwing up was because of the chemo drug she was getting, they said no one's ever reacted to it this way, so they're not completely sure. But, they stuck a tube down her nose and are sucking out all the medicine and crap, so she's not allowed to have food or drink. They also decided that in the future she would be taken to IA City when she was put on a drug to see how she reacts because it was too much for Becki to be relaying things to them over the phone. Plus, there's no reason Becki needs that type of scare again.
So, they're not sure how much longer she's gonna be there, but awhile anyway.
    27 April

    A little update:

Got a call from Becki last night, Karli was taken to the hospital Tuesday with abdominal pains and she was vomiting, Becki decided it was too much to handle, so took Karli in. Wed, she was having seizures they were gonna transport her to IA city that morning, but as they loaded her up, she had another one, so they took some MRI's and did a head CT. The Drs thought the seizures might be from infection. She was transported to IA city last night.
    26 April

No matter how much time I buy, I can never spend it all

Got a phone call from Becki, Karli's mom today. She was in the hospital in Ames this afternoon because of seizures, she was in ICU then. She was gonna get an MRI, and they were gonna try to move her to Iowa City.
She's been through way more than she needs to, can't you just leave her alone?
    24 April

Also, we are all currently looking for pics so if you have any related to our website please email to us. These will be linked to on my list as well.
    22 April

Home is just over that mountain

Well, VEISHEA did not live up to my expectations. I was telling my mom how as I got older, it just wasn't as exciting and then she goes and tells me that I decide what is exciting and what is not by my attitude. And then says that I need something to sustain me, something that's fun for me, and I said that bike riding is fun, and she said that wasn't enough to sustain me, like she knows what can sustain me or not.
Anyways to all the IDIOTS that stood in front of me at the parade FUCK YOU!!!! Now, I don't care if it's little kids, they're supposed to do that, but when the parents go and stand with the kids. HELLO THERE ARE PEOPLE BEHIND YOU HAVE A LITTLE RESPECT!!!! I was gonna yell at them, and even though my mom was pissed as well, she didn't want me yelling at them and labeling them "the people that are in my way" cause someone might be listening. GOOD LET THEM LISTEN, MAYBE IT WILL BE THE ASSES THAT WERE STANDING IN FRONT OF ME AND THEY'LL SIT THE FUCK DOWN!!!!! And who's gonna care what I yell at the people in front of me and how would that hurt me.
And then mom decided that we were gonna leave because she didn't want to sit through the end of the parade, I haven't been to a parade in over 3 years, but, no, we had to leave.
The best things in the parade: the Navy float, and the Harley-Davidsons
Went to the International Food Fair for lunch. You have to pay $2 to get in and then buy tickets for the food. What's the point of paying to get in if I have to pay for the food? And why does every other country think stuff isn't very spicy when it actually is? I never got desert from lunch, that's why I was so tired today, I really think that's the reason.
Met up with a friend who said we were gonna do something together. Walked around campus, saw a crapload of HOTTT military guys and cause they're in uniforms, I almost died. I got really distracted. We saw the Marines in front of the library, I could have stared at them all day, all week, probably all year even.  And then I even got my picture taken with 2 Marines which will be put up here so y'all can see it, once I get it from my friend. Might be a couple days, she was going partying tonight.
Then we got tired of VEISHEA, so we went to ICE AGE 2: THE MELTDOWN. Oh, funny funny movie, if you want a funny movie, go see that.
Me and mom went the Hort Club sale, and mom bought Karli a plant. So after I got home from the movie, I walked over there. I talked to her mom on the phone earlier, and she said Karli wasn't feeling to well, so I was just gonna drop the plant off. But then I got to chatting with Becki (Karli's mom) and then we were watching a TV show, so I stayed about an hour. She told me, she was sorry she wasn't feeling up to talking, but just sitting with her, being close to her, makes me feel better. I got to watch her sleep a couple weeks ago, she looked so peaceful, I'd give anything to make her that peaceful all the time. It hurts me so deeply to see her sick and I can't do a damn thing about it. I just wish there was something I could do to make her better. She's my best friend and if I didn't have her, I'd die. I love her that much. When I see her hurting and sick because of this tumor it hurts me so much.  I'd do anything for her.

Well, you've all heard about those "sexy" lists everywhere, here's a new one for you: "The 100 unsexiest men in the world". It must suck to be on this list. I'm only gonna list the ones I've heard of, if you want the whole list with commentary go here.

Now, I found this through MSN.com, I don't generally read that stuff, but after you send an email in Hotmail or Msn, it sticks little ads for itself on the side, and I don't know who in their right mind would not click on a link for the 100 unsexiest men in the world with a picture of Gilbert Gottfried next to it. Also this was come up with by TWO GUYS, how ironic is that.

don't cha wish your girlfriend was raw like me

Wendy, your lips say you've got Understated Charm

Whether you're delivering a sweet smooch or a well-chosen compliment, a kind and centered sweetie like you uses your lips to show how much you care. You're a great listener who's got a knack for knowing what — and what not — to say.
Subtle and down-to-earth, you're not totally consumed by fussy fashions or high-maintenance beauty routines. We'd bet you're most comfortable in simple styles that let your genuine self shine through. Seems just right for a go-with-the-flow gal like you!

    Wendy, you're 87% masculine

This is based on how you scored on a variety of traits that, founded on classic research and our own studies, are typically associated with men.
You're also 13% feminine, which is based on how you scored on traits that are typically associated with women. When we compare your results with other women it shows that you are somewhat more masculine than other women.

Wendy, your style says you're Sporty and Fun

No matter which team you get a kick out of the most — soccer, softball, track, basketball, or cheerleading — you've got a love for games and staying active. Clothes and fashion are important to you, but for a team player like you, it's about more than just looks. You want to be comfortable and prepared for anything that might come your way.
Whether you're more of an athlete or a fan, you like what sports can do for people — overcome challenges, learn something new, push themselves. Your cool style says that you're always up for a new game. And that'll always score you points!

Wendy, YOUR song is Funky Town

Bold, outrageous, and unafraid to ham it up. Like your signature song, you're upbeat and tons of fun. When it comes to having a good time, your imagination knows no limits. Whether you're out on the town or at home with friends, you can be counted on to be the ringleader.
People are drawn to your lightheartedness and offbeat sense of humor. You're not one to take life too seriously, and that's why you're such a hoot to be around. Not to mention, you always manage to keep people guessing what you'll do next. Stay funky!

OK, I hate sports, but the rest sounds good.

    I'm thinking it over anyway

If you haven't noticed, I've been using quotes from movies lately. Sometimes it's just easier for me, or I'm not listening to a song at the moment.
Anyways, I was listening to Ironic by Alanis Morsette the other day and one line kinda made me think of some thing. "It's meeting the man of my dreams, and then meeting his beautiful wife" I was thinking I know the man of my dreams only I can't have him. Kinda wierd how your life is like the songs sometimes isn't it?
Remember when I posted that letter from a Marine's wife complaining about how people didn't recognize the Blue Star flag? Well, this was a response in this week's newsletter.
    To Tina in Akron
I say Semper Fi to your husband the Navy Corpsman, but to you I say get your head out of your ass. Not every one is stupid although there are plenty, we should not live such a negative life as the one you have portrayed. You as a military dependant have special rights and so do the rest of the citizens.
Some may know where the war is some may not care, but its not up to you to call everyone stupid and act as if your too special because your husband is serving.
It seems to me you think the world owes "YOU" for your husbands service, sorry but no one owes you squat and we would respect you more if you stopped your whining and realizes that people are different all over our Great Nation.
If you want a discount go to the PX, if its to far, don't get pissed because the locals stores, mostly chain stores anyway, won't give you a military discount.
Shut up, support your husband, after all he's the one who is paying a price and he knew it when he joined. You are owed nothing, but can expect as much Respect as you give.
    A Cranmore
    USMC Ret.

Because of the weather last week, my internal clock has been thrown off. I've reverted to summer mode, so this week while it's been in the upper 50's and lower 60's but breezy, I've decided it's too cold to walk around without a coat, and in sandals. Stupid weather.
It's beginning to look like VEISHEA again, I'd almost forgotten what it looked like, since we didn't have it last year. The food stands are going up, if they aren't already and they will be open tomorrow. I remember in HS, me skipping the afternoon on Friday of VEISHEA and coming over here for the open houses and the good food. I miss being young, it seems as I get older it's not as much fun. In 2004, my friends Karli, Geoff and I walked around Taste of VEISHEA and then down Lincolnway to the carnival, and the was the extent of what we did. I didn't even go to the parade (generally a constant thing I attend) because I was up late/early Fri night/Sat morning from working as a VEISHEA security aide. I believe I worked from 7pm to 8am straight, with a little napping in the car (shhh, don't tell). I remember working the comedy show, which was 7 to midnight, and then we were supposed to have a 4 hr break and work again at 4, but apparently someone didn't show up and we were saying how it would just be easier to work than sleep and come back, so we were told to go over to the parking lot where the floats would end up at the end of the parade and keep people out. So, we took my partner's car and sat behind the barricades for 8 hours. It wasn't too bad, I remember having to get out and tell people they couldn't come park there, including walk in front of a car that decided it was gonna drive on the sidewalk to get around the barricades. What is it about barricades blocking a road or something else that makes people want to come in even more badly? I remember both of us nodding off numerous times in the car throughout the evening, I don't think it mattered because no cars came in while we were dozing. I remember running up to the doors of the food and science building around 8am cause we really had to pee. And I remember getting donuts and crappy juice around 8 when we were relieved. And then I remember going home and sleeping all day.
This year everything is on campus, taste of VEISHEA is on the south end close to Lake Laverne (sp?) stuff is on central campus, and throughout campus. I'm hoping to go to the parade, the Hort sale, the international food fair and maybe look at the stuff around campus and go to Taste of VEISHEA at the end of the day.
    15 April

that's not striking an officer, THAT's striking an officer

I was watching cops tonight (of course) and one segment Detective Tony Moreno, this guy is a big guy, why the criminal was fighting with him was beyond me, of course he attempted to cooperate when Detective Moreno got that tazer out. Anyway, the criminal had a bag of crack, stuck it in his pants when Detective Moreno went by the first time, when Moreno came back and the guy was fighting with him, he stuck it in the sewer (nicely this sewer was just like a hole in the ground, it wasn't real wet, so the crack just went down, not anywhere else), so once Detective Moreno gets the guy in another officer's car, about 3 or 4 officers pry up the manhole cover with a baton and a tireiron. Then they tried to lift up the bag of crack with the baton, that didn't work so one of the Officer Mike Kelly hopped in the sewer (I wouldn't volunteer for that). That goes above and beyond the call of duty to me, that and the segment I saw from the 80s who crawled underneath a house to pull a lady out. When the officer came out, he was covered in dirt, kinda looked like he had tunneled out of prison (ok, stupid analogy, but you get the idea).
Also, on my hott cops list: From Gwinnett County, GA: Officer Kevin Berardelli; from Las Vegas, NV: Officer John Campor; from Travis County, TX: Deputy Jeff Williams; from Spokane, WA: Officer Jeremy Daniel, Officer Jerry Anderson; and from Pittsburgh, PA: Detective Tony Moreno, and Officer Mike Kelly.

I will never be with you

OK, so I'm currently looking for a ride on a motorcycle and I got this email this morning:
    Hi ..
I live in Denver, Colorado, and I'm older than your mother.. Now, if you want to read on, or if my age alone is a huge turnoff for you, just delete this.  :-(
I love motorcycles; but currently I only have a 150cc motor scooter, and ride it almost every day, weather permitting. It's fun and it saves me a lot of $$ on gasoline. It's a little goofy looking, as scooters go. :) But I have been shopping, browsing, looking for a 250 cc motorcycle or scooter. I always wish I could give somebody a ride ..
In general, I notice that 99% of people I meet are mainstream conformists, and are absolutely NOT interested in Europe, Argentina, Brazil, or in foreign languagesI am enthusiastic about foreign languages.. They look at me like I'm a Martian or something..  Do you know what I mean?  I wonder if you already deleted this just because of my  age.. :-?
My native language is English; French was my 2nd language, then German, then Dutch.
I spent a decade living in western Europe on my own, long ago.  Years later I learned Spanish, and later still, Brazilian Portuguese. .
I watch COPS on TV , I love cats and tolerate dogs. . I used to love poetry by Pablo Neruda, in Spanish, with a translation in English or some other language..
Now I hope you will reply and tell me about yourself.  .
I have worked as interpreter/translator for about 20 years, and I enjoy it, but I get tired of mostly Spanish and mostly of Mexicans... So I diversify a bit..
Once in a while, I am interpreter in Portuguese for Brazilians. Or for a few French-speaking refugees from Africa..
OK, I am a part-time interpreter in local courts on a free lance basis. As translator / interpreter, I deal with Workers' Comp, legal depositions, pharmaceuticals, insurance investigations, physical therapy, and a lot of medical terminology.
I translate only into English from Spanish & Portuguese.  When I'm not needed for interpreting, I spend most of my time compiling bio medical glossaries and dictionaries.   My main biomedical terminology database now contains about 26,262 detailed key words and medical phrases in seven languages, in Excel format.
But enough about me, and what I do..
Now I hope to hear back from you, if you want to tell me about yourself. I'm many years older than you..
is that a problem?  And I don't live in Iowa...
If you were interested,  I would tell you about my multilingual biomedical web portal and bio medical dictionaries web site. My medical resources web portal now offers 2,035 links to medical and biomedical sites & glossaries in 23 languages . . . about 840 in English, 292 in Spanish, 129 in Portuguese, 222 in French, 115 in Dutch, 133 in German, 22 in Italian, 8 in Russian, 6 in Greek, and 135 in other languages or multilingual.  This is a free service I offer to translators , students, interpreters, and medical professional people in English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish & German. There are even medical dictionaries in Russian, Japanese & Chinese.  The site is FREE, of course.
SAMPLE DICTIONARY: in order to give you an idea of exactly what my big biomedical dictionary /thesaurus is all about, I posted a subset of it online. This page is a large & detailed sample of my dictionary/thesaurus, in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French ONLY. About 2,440 entries; e.g. 12% of the total number of my dictionary entries, but without the Dutch, German and Swedish entries.....
There is also a newer four-language sample (subset) online - This is a NEWER subset in Excel format with 2,440 complete entries in four languages, taken from the January 2006 version (in English, Spanish, Portuguese & French).
Thank youfor your consideration. :-) I hope you will reply in spite of our huge age difference.. Please do reply..

OK, I asked for a MOTORCYCLE ride, a scooter is almost the same, only not. To me, if you have a scooter (and you're proud of it), it means you're not cool enough for a motorcycle, it's funny to see people riding around on those things. And this guy tells me, trying to up his coolability (new word) that he's looking for a motorcycle, I don't care. Plus, he's insecure about our age difference, also how do you know how old my mother is? Looking at his picture (which I thought I'd be nice and not post on here) he looks about as old as my mother. And the guy is LONELY. Why the hell do I care that you're a translator, sure tries to make me care, by filling the whole damn email about it, so you speak different languages, I DON'T GIVE A FUCK!!! Also, notice he says if you were interested, I'd tell you about my multilingual biomedical web portal and bio medical dictionaries web site, and then proceeds to tell me, guess he decided I was interested.
And the guy doesn't even live in Iowa, like I'm gonna travel to Colorado to RIDE ON A SCOOTER, come on. How stupid/gullible do you think I am?
This is you're laugh for the morning cause it's hilarious, sorry buddy, but when someone sends me something funny, it goes up here. Deal. You brought it on yourself. Should have waited for a second email before you described about yourself.
    13 April

    it's hot

Well, I'm tired today, not quite sure if that's cause of last night or other stuff. Should have worn a less covering shirt today, my thermometor (yeah, that's spelled wrong) says it's 80 degrees right now, and I'm betting it was hotter than that earlier today, with the sun out.
Spent my lunch hour on central campus, chatting with Goddess, and watching some guys play frisbee. I decided I really like watching guys play frisbee, not that these guys were really hott or anything, they were pretty good looking, don't get me wrong, I just like watching them try to look cool with their throwing and catching techinques, I was entertained.
I'm thinking about wearing a tank top tomorrow, can you believe that? It's April, mid-April in the 80's, I was gonna put my air conditioner in the window today, but it requires a little more effort and hands than I have. I'm gonna have to sleep in the buff to not be hot, jeez.
So, there was this group of students today in the reading room, that were just driving me nuts. 2 of them come in put their bags on the table with the computers and look on the computer for something. Then they go and look at pretty much all the books, come back and sit down at the computer again. Then the guy whispers "Psst I have a question" WHY DO THEY ALWAYS WHISPER?! SPEAK UP DAMNIT, I MAY NOT BE DEAF, BUT GOOD LORD!! So I go and help them out, they walk off to find the journal I point them at, leaving their bags next to the computers. They come back with another guy, each carrying at least 5 books each. And then they go back and comandeer the copy machine for at least half an hour. After awhile, I went back to ask them to move their bags, which were still by the computers, making anyone else think those computers were in use; when I get back there I notice they are folding down the corners of the journals, I don't care if it's your own books, but don't do that to ours.  Personally, I didn't care that they were taking so long with the machine, you're using your money, but there was someone else that needed to use the copier, that's when I care. So one of my bosses went back and told them other people wanted to use the machine, and then they were pretty much out of my hair. Like I said I don't care if you're using it, but when other people are there wanting to use it, have a little respect.
Well, you can tell it's nice weather out, there's a guy that's got one of those ice cream carts that you push/pull around with a bicycle. And it's got this annoying noisy song. So he was riding around today with that and driving me nuts so I yelled at him through my windows, it's doubtful he heard me, but I felt better.
Took some quizzes online today at chatterbean, unfortunately it's one of those places where you have to register.
    Here are my results:
    Are you normal?
You've earned the title of wonderful eccentric, and while you're not a wild, gun-slinging maverick, you certainly like to follow your own way. Of course, you probably don't think of yourself as eccentric.
    Are you hot?
Your quiz results make you Wild and Crazy. You have a lot of fun living a wild and crazy life. You live every second to the fullest. You don't look to keep up with fashion; you look for fashion to keep up with you. Your fun filled lifestyle never stops, so your engine is always running hot. Who knows what crazy new thing you'll try out next?
    How happy are you?
You have your ups and downs, but for the most part, you are moderately happy. There's no burning desire to change your life. You'd probably have an uplifting effect on someone who is less happy than you, but at the same time, you could benefit if you associated with those happier than yourself.
Ok, I agree with the first and the last one but the middle one is a little messed up. I'd like to be wild and crazy, I've been called crazy but that was for walking in the rain. Yes, I go on motorcycle rides with people I don't know, don't worry I'm cautious. I look for fashion? Yeah right, I require jeans and a t-shirt, a tank top in the summer, my feet and hands have dirt all over them right now, I'm sitting here sweating, if I cared about fashion, I might be in a nice little dress, painted nails, hair done all cute. Yeah that's too much work, and I don't give a damn if you don't like it.
Almost forgot something. My neighbor across the way (the one I mentioned running into at Fareway, my blast from the past, guy I used to have a crush on) anyway, he's got a crotchrocket and rides with a guy that has a nice 100 yr anniversary bike. Damn I wanna ride on that.

    I wanna dance with somebody

That would be a sight right now. I believe I am officially drunk. Remind me not to drink on an empty stomach.
So I posted on craigslist saying I was looking for a ride, nothing more. That was Sunday. This guy replied yesterday and said today would be a nice day to ride. Which it was. So we went to Zylstra's and joined the dinner ride, only his vintage 1969 bike couldn't keep up with the other bikes. And so one of the regulars came back and escorted us back to Ames and to the restaurant, where the guy I originally was riding with went home cause apparently he was leaking oil. As bad as this seems, I was kinda happy he did, I would have really loved to go on the rest of the ride with the rest of the Harley (ok there was a Honda and a Yamaha there too) bikers, I just wanted to go on a ride. So while we were in the restaurant some one (we're thinking a bunch of kids) stole their helmets and gear that wasn't tied down. WHO STEALS BIKERS GEAR? Personally I think we should have hunted them down and kicked some butt. Anywho, my helmet wasnt' stolen (Thank god, just bought that in Sept, just got to try it out tonight). I'm thinkin cause it was between 2 seat backs, so you couldn't really see it, also the helmets that were strapped down were fine, just seemed someone walked through and took all the ones they could see. I really would have loved to hunt those people down and lived up to the title of biker. Pisses me off.
Anywho, going to bed, so I don't have to stare at anything, everything's moving wierdly, and it took entirely too long to write this, and i find that funny.

I've never been moved this way

And it's one of those days again. Where the good-looking guys come out to play. LOL. I'm not usually a butt person (insert joke here), but there was this guy today, and his ass just fit his jeans so damn good, was kinda hard to keep myself from staring. And then of course there was the Army guy, if you can't tell them cause they're not wearing their uniforms, you can tell by the backpack they're wearing, it's always green with lots of little strappy things. The Navy has their own one too, only they're shoulder bags, with a nice Navy logo on them. Anyways, back on track, the Army guy was pretty good. And I saw a guy that was so comfortable with his manliness that he wore pink (ok salmon, cause girls have tons of color words) shorts. I was appalled, I know I've seen shirts, but shorts? Come on.
Also, talked to Karli today, she starts Chemo tomorrow, and she's scared, though she used the word worried, I know she's scared. She met with the chemo nurse yesterday who told her all these things she had to pay attention to, and go into the hospital if things got messed up. I just wanted to give her a hug through the phone. I wish I could heal her so much. I'm gonna go by on Sat and drop off some daffodils, she said she loves those and hers haven't popped up yet, so...
Someone talked me into wearing a dress today, I'm really self-conscious. If someone would have just said I looked good/cute in the dress, I wouldn't feel so bad but...
Also, have an interview for an internship this afternoon, kinda worried about that, really don't know what to wear either, last time it was easy, it was more or less not warm, so black pants and a sweater, I wanna wear something long-sleeved, (it's not my policy to show the tats at the interviews) so I look more professional, but it's gonna be in the 70s this afternoon, talk about sweatsville, wonder if I can wear a tank top under something and take that something off before I leave, hmmm..

Take your cat and leave my sweater

Has anyone seen the previews for United 93. It's bad enough we had to live through the day and watch the actual planes crash into the World Trade Centers and into the ground in Pennsylvania, but now Hollywood has to make a movie about it. Excuse me? Not like you people aren't making enough money as it is, no you have to go and exploit everything possible. We don't and will never know exactly what happened on that flight, why do you people have to speculate?
I know other people have posted about the majority of Americans not remembering after 4 years, oh but now we can have a movie so everyone will remember, hello?! It's forever etched into our memories it will be taught in classes forevermore like December 7th, 1941. Now I wasn't around then, but I know what that date is and if I have anyone asking me about it, I'm gonna hunt you down and ask you why the hell you don't know your American  history.

French kiss on a bear rug

Well, shit I'm in a good mood now. Spent about half an hour talking to a good buddy of mine, Brinkley, talking about school and work and other stuff. I found out why the DPS came to the accident of Friday, since it involved a squad car. Also found out the officer was a little more than shook up, was taken to the ER given meds and taken home, but is fine. I miss talking to my cops. When Schultz was on nights, a while ago. He used to work out in the afternoon and chat with me afterwards, I really miss that.
I've been walking barefoot today (yes, Goddess, barefoot) inbetween classes and around downtown. I decided since I stepped on that X-acto blade, there couldn't be anything worse anywhere else. And, yes my feet were black, more or less, when I got home and I did wash them. Also, flicked off a vanload of guys, probably not the best thing to do, but I was in more or less of a bad mood and I knew they couldn't see my face, so I gave them the finger. Stupid me, the first time I get attention from guys I fuck it up. Sigh
I did get to sign up to work long doors for our first concert since beginning of school year, I was surprised I got through so quick, but am very happy I get to work it.

    love was easy

Question for all you gals out there. I see this a lot on music videos and movies, though I've never been able to do it. A black bra underneath a white shirt, I've tried, but you can see right through the shirt, course it could be something you're supposed to see, but that's not me. So my question is, can you wear a black bra underneath a white shirt without it showing?

I've been having some wierd dreams lately, Sat night it was everyone dying in a war, and I knew these people, like I was watching them die. And then last night it was Dr Greene (from ER) was diseased and chasing someone and then fighting the treatment for his virus/disease. Really wierd. Especially, since my dreams aren't really that wierd.

So, me and mom went to the ISU fashion show on Sat night. This is a fashion show totally put on/set up by students, they do everything to put it on, they do have a faculty advisor, but basically students do everything. And I decided (I know I've said this to Goddess before), any guy in a cowboy hat turns me on. Also, there were a lot of nice clothes, there was even a little red dress with spaghetti straps that my mom thought would look good on me, that's wierd cause it was really girly, and mom's not a big fan of me in girly stuff. Also, this show has become a tradition for me and mom, we go every year, just us. Well, this year, she had her friend and husband sitting next to us, that ruined it.

Got a letter from my prison penpal, cant' tell you how much that brightened up my day.
Also, gonna post this in every entry now. Anyone with a bike in the area with an empty backseat? I'd love to go for a ride.

Funny thing, the video wherever you are by Jack Ingram, the only reason I love that video, is cause of his car.
Hott cops from Saturday: From Santa Ana, CA: Sgt Ken Witt; From Gwinnett County, GA Officer Roger Bell, and Officer Jason Summers; from Las Vegas, NV: Officer Ryan Cook; from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: the mysterious sgt the two drug officer handed the guy off to; and from Anchorage AL: Officer Jack Carson.
Yes, Cutie Cook was on again, god the guy is cute.

    Shaken, scared, and crying

    That's me right now
I'm shaking right now, I just saw an accident involving a cop car (I did/do know the officer driving).  It just happened so fast.
I just dropped was I was doing grabbed my phone and my keys and ran outside. I was/am very shaken. I'm actually crying right now. Just to see one of my officers involved in an accident, I was so scared that he was really hurt. I was just so scared. I was surprised that a couple DPS (Dept of Public Safety, the campus police) cars showed up and investigated rather than our guys showing up. The only other Ames car that showed up was the Sgt, and it seemed like a long time before he came (it probably wasn't though)

Ran outside with no shoes on, no coat, that's how scared/upset I was. Yeah, it is 46 degrees, but it's cloudy and definitely not a nice day. I don't wanna stick too much detail in here cause I was a witness, and I know the investigation is obviously still going on, I'm just so upset and shaking. I care so deeply for the people protecting my city, they're like family to me, if anything ever really happened to them...
I remember feeling this same way when I heard about undercover drug officers being shot in a deal a couple years ago when a buddy of mine was on the drug task force. Just hearing that some story county drug task force officers had been shot, those words stopped my heart, I could hardly wait for the 10 pm news to find out it wasn't the guy I knew. I know there's the risk of them not coming home every night (in Ames, it's pretty small, but it's still there), but I still worry for every one of them.

So, since I was so upset, I needed a laugh tonight. I watched the Blues Brothers, I swear I know practically every line in that movie. My brother hates watching it with me because of this. But I haven't seen it in a long time, that's cause I lost the box in my move, so it's not on my movie shelf. But I love this movie.
